12/17/10 - Peace A Pizza to Open in Catonsville
Catonsville residents longing for a new pizza joint to visit in town will have to wait no later than Saturday, as Peace A Pizza opens off of Mellor Avenue.
A Catonsville family is opening a franchise of the Pennsylvania-based chain, which currently has 15 stores.
Sally Grace and many of her family members are involved in the business venture. Grace remembers going to visit her siblings in college in Pennsylvania and visiting a Peace A Pizza location up there.
"Every time we went up, we always went to Peace a Pizza," she said. Grace and several of her family members, including her aunt Kelly Cromer, have been trained in the franchise business.
They have been renovating a location in the Mews shopping center for the past several months.
The location will be open on Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. until 9 pm. Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m.
The chain is known as a family-friendly restaurant, with Peace signs and tie-dye colors as part of the decor. Diners can purchase pizza by the slice or in 14- or 16-inch pies. There are also vegetarian options, strombolis, and salads.
The location will also have free Wi-Fi and two flat-screen televisions, Grace said. "There is going to be something for everyone," she said.
